About Swedish Flower Hens

Native of Sweden and imported into the U.S in 2010, the Swedish Flower has become very popular due to its joyful appearance and temperament. The Swedish Flower comes in a variety of colors. Words can’t describe the infinity of possibilities! Every hatch is a surprise!!The base colors can range from black, blue, yellow, and red. The feather pattern is millefleur (thousand flowers), the feathers are white-tipped. The combinations are many and varied – black/white, white/red, and a pattern similar to the Speckled Sussex hen.

Birds can be crested, tasseled, or not. Our bloodlines carry both the crested and non-crested genes, so you can potentially hatch both appearance from our flock's eggs.

The rarest coloration pattern is called ‘Snow Leopard.’ Some of the white tips are replaced by black tips giving an overall picture of gold/white/black markings named after the rare Snow Leopard.

Swedish Flowers are very friendly and social. Speaking from my own experience with this breed, it is one of my favorites in terms of temperament. They are calm, confident, and poised. The females are extremely curious and inquisitive. They love the outdoors and exploring the world around them, but they also bear confinement well.

They enjoy human interaction. They are curious and love to explore the world around them. Hens lay a decent amount of eggs per week. Egg size is large and extra-large and of cream color.

The hens will lay anywhere between 180-200 eggs per year. They are very hardy and tolerate a wide variety of weather conditions.

The Swedish Flower Hen has not been bred to any written standard of perfection (THANK GOD!!), so they have not been recognized by the American Standard of Perfection (APA).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • First and foremost, there are no refunds, no returns, and no replacements on any hatching egg orders, FOR ANY REASON, whatsoever.

  • You may have 0% -100% hatch rate from the eggs you receive from me.

  • In addition to the above, you understand that, in general, shipped eggs may not develop due to factors outside my control. You should candle the eggs upon arrival to inspect the air sac cells. It is recommended that shipped eggs rest for 12 hours to allow shook up air cells a chance to settle and possibly reattach. If air cells become damaged, embryo development is doomed.

  • Please take the time to educate yourself about fertile chicken eggs. Just because the embryo fails to develop, it does not mean the egg was not fertile. Eggs must be kept under the right condition in order to fertilize (It is always a good idea to check your incubator for cold spots periodically).

  • The only way to check for fertility is to crack one of the eggs to locate the bullseye (the blastocyst).

  • Department of Agriculture requires all shipments of hatching eggs and live animals must be accompanied by the buyer's phone number. We are NPIP and follow NPIP guidelines. We file and submit a VS 9-3 form for all of our shipped orders, even if within the State of Florida.

  •  When you purchase eggs through the mail you understand there are risks involved and when you complete your purchase, you have accepted these terms and conditions.

  • Handling time can be anywhere between 3 - 10 business days. Sometimes, it can take longer, depending on the number of orders between eBay, local, and the farm website. I strive to ship every order as soon as possible, but keep in mind we work with animals. Animals are unpredictable. We work with small flocks. Eggs are shipped fresh. Your oldest egg won't be older than 72 hours prior to shipping.

  • Your eggs will arrive safely and unbroken; free of any deformities. Only the best eggs are chosen for your incubator. Each egg is carefully inspected for cracks and detached air cells prior to packaging. Every package sent is the best it can possibly be. The eggs I sent to you are packaged with love and care.

  • If you receive broken eggs, send me an email or text message with pictures of the damage eggs (exclude any extras sent) Pictures are a MUST.

  • Please understand that I do not return messages about hatch rate. There is nothing I can or will do to remediate the issue. I can't refund you for service that has been rendered. I won’t reship, unless paid for a full set, or authorize a return.

  • I can't guarantee hatch rate outside my farm for numerous factors: the environment, the machine, the practice, detached air sacs during transit, just to name a few. Just place me on your "no buy again list" and move on.

  • Please note we cannot predict when our hens want to take a break. Just like us, they have good days and bad days as well. If I cannot fill your order due to broodiness, molt, heat, or any other factor that affects laying, I will contact you and cancel your order, issuing a full refund.

  • If you can’t accept these terms and conditions please find another breeder.
